Open Doors 23 

Open Doors is an annual event, that allows you to go behind the site hoardings for all those interested in a career in construction, showcasing the fantastic range of careers available in construction.

From Monday 13 until Saturday 18 March 2023, construction companies will be hosting site visits across England, Scotland and Wales, with projects ranging from tunnels to skyscrapers, as well as a wide range of virtual experiences. In addition, offices, factories and other facilities will also open their doors to demonstrate the off-site roles across the sector.

So whether you are thinking about a new career or just curious to see how the buildings and structures in your community are constructed – Open Doors has something for you.  Giving you the opportunity to visit an active construction project, with over 230 sites across the UK having registered to take part. 

Julie White, the Managing Director of D-Drill and Vice Chair of Build UK, is behind the campaign endorsed by Build UK to open the doors to the construction industry. All events and site visits hosted by Build UK, can directly lead to new entrants joining our industry, helping to fill the skills gap. These events are perfect for young people and those looking for a change of career to find out what the construction industry has to offer by going behind the site hoardings and seeing the diverse range of opportunities available.
