D-Drill & Sawing’s London branch is going from strength to strength under the guidance of manager Chris Broadley.
Chris joined the company in 2021 after more than 25 years in the industry and is part of D-Drill’s mission to grow and develop its branch network that stretches right across the country.
The London branch delivers the full suite of D-Drill & Sawing’s services – from diamond drilling and concrete cutting through to more recent additions to the company’s offering, such as kerb-cutting (utilising a tool invented by D-Drill MD Julie White) through to pull testing.
The branch has a team of highly-skilled operatives working on projects across the city and the south east and can call in support from other teams around the country depending on the job.
Chris said he was encouraging more people to come into the industry because of the variety of the work.
He said: “I was at college doing business studies but then someone mentioned I should try diamond drilling. That was 25 years ago and I’ve never looked back!
“I’ve worked on a whole range of projects that have national and international significance including everything from No.10 Downing Street, Leadenhall Tower (cheese grater building)through to the new Wembley and Tottenham Hotspur Stadiums.
“We’ve done quite a lot on the London Tideway tunnels over recent months and there are lots of smaller, but not insignificant, pieces of work coming in all the time that all help with new developments or improvements to existing buildings or infrastructure.
“Recently, we’ve been asked to support with some kerb-cutting work for a client here in London which was a service D-Drill added a few years ago.
“Over the past couple of years, the company has added even more services for clients and it helps to add even more variety to what we do and what we like to call is a one stop industry shop.
“For anyone who is thinking of coming into the industry, I’d say to them to give it a go. It’s a great trade to be in and we get to work on some incredible projects.
“The London branch continues to grow and we’re looking forward to an exciting period for the whole company.”
