IACDS Annual Meeting 2026: Collaboration, Knowledge and Industry Progress

IACDS Annual Meeting 2026: Collaboration, Knowledge and Industry Progress

By Julie White, Managing Director, D‑Drill

On 14–15 May 2026, I had the pleasure of attending the IACDS Annual Meeting in Edinburgh, alongside my father and D‑Drill founder, Peter White. The event, delivered in collaboration with the Drilling & Sawing Association (DSA), brought together industry professionals from across Europe and beyond, highlighting the strength of collaboration within our sector.

The two‑day programme welcomed association members, contractors, and industry experts, with a strong focus on technical knowledge, industry developments, and professional best practice in concrete drilling and sawing.

Technical Insight and Industry Best Practice

The conference featured a number of insightful presentations, including a detailed overview of the Jonderberry Jetty Demolition project, updates on the new FBS guidelines for concrete drilling and cutting operations, and a showcase of the 2025 Diamond Award‑winning project, recognising excellence and innovation within the industry.

For us at D‑Drill, keeping up to date with evolving guidance and learning from complex projects across the industry is essential. Events like this play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and technical competence across all areas of our work.

Networking and Industry Connections

Alongside the conference sessions and annual meetings, the event provided valuable opportunities to exchange experiences, strengthen international relationships, and build new connections. Delegates also had the chance to enjoy Edinburgh’s rich cultural heritage through a guided city tour and a series of social events.

The event concluded with a closing dinner, providing a relaxed setting to reflect on two productive days and celebrate another successful IACDS Annual Meeting.

Looking Ahead

The strong attendance and high level of engagement throughout the programme clearly demonstrated the industry’s continued commitment to collaboration, innovation, and sharing best practice worldwide. Attending alongside my father was a particularly meaningful experience, reflecting both the heritage of D‑Drill and the importance of supporting the industry as it continues to move forward.

On behalf of D‑Drill, I would like to thank IACDS, the Drilling & Sawing Association, all speakers, members, and participants whose contributions helped make the 2026 Annual Meeting such a success.
