D-Drill up for another prestigious award

D-Drill has been shortlisted for another major award after its recent success at the ‘World of Concrete’ in Las Vegas.

D-Drill picked up a coveted award at the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers (IACDS) Diamond Awards in January.

It was the company’s delicate and innovating efforts to remove a 100-year-old piece of ceramic art in a Newcastle hospital that were honoured.

Now D-Drill has been shortlisted for two categories in the ‘Specialist Awards 2011 held by the NSCC (National Specialist Contractors Council) for specialist contractors which will take place in March.

The categories in which D-Drill has been shortlisted are ‘Training’ and ‘Site Preparation and Services’.

Alan Rogers, Operations Director at D-Drill, said he was delighted with the recent success.

He said: “ The Specialist Awards 11 recognises the best specialist contractors in the construction industry. Supported by the national Specialist Contractors Council and backed by the Construction News, with such an influential Council & publication within our sector simply raises the bar. Just to make the shortlist is an award in itself and for us is overwhelming. The achievement is straight forward recognition for every one of our employees who work tremendously hard to make our company special for us and above all for our customers”.

Julie White Managing Director said: “To be on the shortlist for these awards is fantastic news and we are the 1st Diamond Drilling and Sawing Company to be ever recognised. It’s an extremely highly-regarded ceremony and shows how well respected we are in the construction and Specialist Contracting industry.

“It comes on the back of our success in Las Vegas and shows that D-Drill is going from strength to strength.”
