Julie White on BBC’s Question Time

D-Drill managing director Julie White has appeared on the BBC’s topical news programme, Question Time.

White appeared on Thursday night’s episode, filmed in West Bromwich alongside Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor Ken Clarke QC MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Health Incumbent Andy Burnham, General Secretary of Unite Len McCluskey and Ruth Lea, a prominent figure in the world of economics.

Question Time is the leading topical debate programme from the BBC, where high profile figures from the worlds of politics, business and the media answer questions posed by members of the public.

White said: “It was a nerve racking experience, but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. The opportunity to appear on such a prestigious programme is something that I really relished.

“I was there to bring a business perspective to the debate, and I felt strongly about some of the issues that were being addressed, in particular with respect of potential education reforms that will clearly impact on all businesses looking to recruit young people, straight from school, or for apprenticeships.

“This week was a particular important one for the economy, with the release of the latest unemployment figures and an unexpected fall in inflation, not to mention the issues that were discussed on the programme. With so many things currently impacting on business confidence in the UK, the debate was certainly topical.”
