Bookstore stairwells

D-Drill were asked to remove 60 metres of RC parapet 300mm thick around the stairwells at a redundant bookstore for the University of Sheffield.

Our job was to use the tracksaw to flush cut the parapet wall at first floor level. This meant that the existing handrail could remain as the handrail fixings were below the cut line.

The lengths of parapet were then stitch drilled in to 500mm long sections to allow them to be palletised and removed via a fork lift truck.
