Diamond drilling with D-Drill

D-Drill were called out to diamond drill a series of holes into an 8mtr rfc chamber through existing conduits approx 1mtr away from point of contact of actual drilling location.

We were asked to drill a series of holes into an rfc chamber at a new housing estate in Llanwern. On arrival at the location we had a meeting with the customer and surveyed the location to discuss the feasibility of the proposed work.

The biggest problem was having to stabilise the drill bit over the 1 mtr distance so that it would enter the concrete without damage to the chamber or the drill bit.

Because of the distance involved the team suggested filling the back of the holes with expanding foam to provide support for the drill bit, so that it would be stable at the end of the duct. This was achieved and the drilling work was completed successfully and on time.
